PACA Graduates Third Emerging Leaders Class

The Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association (PACA) announced its third class of Emerging Leaders Academy (PELA) participants graduated during the association’s annual meeting and honors program in Hershey.

Selected by the PELA board of trustees, participants engaged in a 10-month hybrid program consisting of both online and in-person educational sessions and networking opportunities aimed at elevating potential leaders in the aggregates, concrete and cement industries, along with industry partners such as consulting engineers, equipment dealers and manufacturers, admixtures, service providers, and more.

Led by instructor and facilitator Greg Coker from Greg Coker Development, class members had the opportunity to meet key industry and legislative leaders throughout the commonwealth, tour member company plants and facilities, participate in media training, and learn valuable leadership and life skills they can now bring back to their respective companies and peers.

As part of the graduation requirements, PELA students must successfully complete a Capstone project. This year’s class focused on industry awareness and workforce development by delivering customizable presentations that speak of the importance of the industry and our materials and address career opportunities.

“Each year’s class brings a unique perspective and outlook on the industry,” said Kallie Kline, PELA liaison and PACA’s director of member services. “This year’s class was truly impressive with their drive, professionalism and inquisitive way of looking at leadership principles presented through the program. There is no doubt, the PELA program continues to prepare the future leaders of the aggregates, concrete and cement industries.”
